Silverpoint DrawingSilverpoint drawing was developed by European artists and flourished during the Renaissance. Back then it was widely used for studies and to prepare detailed drafts for paintings. With a brief introduction into the history and tradition of the artistic working methods with metal points we will be drawing with metal points made of sterling silver on special paper and will learn more about this technique.
This drawing method is interesting for both beginners and professionals and will widen your toolbox of expressing yourself artistically. This workshop will be held in German language and is going to take place in co-operation with the Freie Kunstakademie Hamburg as co-host. |
Rothko in the focusThe way of abstract field painting by Marc Rothko fascinates through intense power of colors and the special texture of its surface. Rothko's painting technique is still a secret which we will try to explore together in this course. From transparent layers of color to the mixing of the characteristic Rothko palette and the experimenting with thin paint applications, we are going to create our own painting process. By engaging with one of the most iconic expressionist painters of the 20th century we develop new images with our emotions and carry inspiration and ideas into our time.

Monochromatic Watercolour PaintingWith the basic idea of translating colours into tonal values and creating moods with light and dark, we will create impactful pictures that play with the feel of lightness and spontaneity of watercolour painting. Applying and composing various watercolour painting techniques together allows for a very unique visual language. It creates images that combine clarity and complexity.
