Getting ready for the show

Together with my fellow resident artists I am in full swing for the set up of our open studio event "First Hand" next Saturday 11am to 4.30pm. Please come and meet me in my atelier with the option to purchase some sketches, drawings and prints as well as selected oil and watercolour paintings that will be on display for the day. There shall be some special artwork for you to see first time ... first hand!

163 years ago ...

... Vincent Van Gogh was born in Groot-Zundert a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant close to the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. Vincent's moving landscapes, distinctive still lifes and expressive portraits are still a vivid inspiration for many artists of all genres and styles. There is a side to human kind that works without borders, timelessly, beyond beliefs and age. Sometimes people like Vincent are able to capture the essence of a very human way of sharing ideas and emotions - the making of Art.

... and suddenly it's spring

Spending some time at home in Thuringia and found a little painting in my mum's cupboard.
I must have been about 9 or 10 when I painted this at my grandparent's house. Thought, it's a cute finding at the first day of spring.
