Paging through some magazines at breakfast this morning I spotted a photo of some figs and thought, they would give a nice addition to the series of fruit paintings that I am working on these days.

This is the current state of the basic painting after the first session today. I will apply some more work over the coming days once this layer is dry.

In very little time a local gallery will start exhibiting and selling a collection of my original paintings. It will showcase some still life's for which the complementing frames are currently being selected and then professionally crafted by hand. 

I am going to announce the exhibition opening here on my website very soon.

Today, I have been to the gallery to bring another painting of ripe pink blushed pears that has been finished recently.

This is the photograph I took of it just before I went and then realising only afterwards what lovely interplay it has created with the magazine laying beneath. Hope you like it  too  ;-)
