30/11/2015 0 Comments The UnderpaintingI am intensively working on my first big series of paintings for which I am looking forward to exhibit them in the first half of 2016.
I always love the phase of doing the underpainting in a very thin yet precise study to build the underlying structure for the entire painting. This is the time when colours don't really matter so much and the mediums are floating loosely across the canvas in search for lines, shapes and brought values. Truly, this is the moment of creation for me when I put the meaning of the work just beneath the layers of paint. This underpainting of a male back (detail) is being done with a light mix of Burnt Umber and Permanent Rosé, both from Windsor & Newton.
